How can I afford to go to school?
This is a question with multiple possible answers. First, it’s always advantageous to set aside some money for your education after high school. Second, our campuses are fully accredited schools with Federal Title IV funding available to those who qualify. Financial aid can also include grants or loans. Also, a student can work as he/she goes to school, and our campuses can assist with part time employment convenient to one’s class schedule.
How do I know if I am eligible for financial aid?
Financial aid is available for those students who qualify. A call or visit to any campus’ Financial Aid Office will help determine eligibility for the various sources of financial assistance. All of our campuses are eligible institutions to offer various loan and grant programs, so your assigned Financial Aid Advisor can discuss each individual situation in detail.
Do you offer scholarships?
Yes, our campuses offer a number of scholarships to graduating High School Seniors at certain campuses through our Scholarship Testing. This is a basic skills test given at our schools throughout the year. There also may be specific scholarships for enrolled students that the admissions department can help you apply for once you have been accepted and enrolled. Since institutional scholarships vary for all locations and have individual application criteria, it is best to contact your nearest campus Career Advisor to receive more information.
Do you have housing?
This varies by location. Our Nashville location has on-campus dormitories. Other campuses can refer students to comfortable housing accommodations in the vicinity of the school for out-of-town students and can render assistance to those requesting help in obtaining suitable housing. Each campus can provide in further detail any accommodations they may have available to incoming students.
How much does it cost to go to school?
Cost for school depends on what program the student is enrolling in and what real life experience he or she has that may apply to the student’s education. There may also be financial aid that the student may qualify for. The only true way to give an accurate answer on cost would be to thoroughly interview the individual to discuss options.
Do you offer job placement assistance?
Yes, each of our campuses has a Career Services department. While we cannot guarantee job placement, we do provide employment assistance to current students as well as our graduates. Our Career Services department maintains contact with the industry, advises students on interviewing techniques and personal development, helps with resumes, and maintains contact with the student after graduation to ensure personal development.
Are you accredited?
All Lincoln Educational Services Schools are accredited either by ACCSCT (Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology) or by ACICS (Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools). Both are listed by the U.S. Department of Education as nationally recognized accrediting agencies.
Do you offer degrees?
This varies by campus and by program. Some of our schools offer Associate Degrees in certain programs. Others offer Diploma programs and/or Certificate programs. Our West Palm Beach location offers a Bachelor Degree program in Culinary Management. In addition, many of our schools also include specific training within certain programs that can prepare students to sit for industry standard certification exams. Note: types of Associate Degrees vary by campus and by state. Contact your local school campus for more information specific to that location.
Is there tutoring available?
Each individual campus location offers the extra attention needed to those students facing problems in the classroom.
What is the admissions process?
If a student is interested in one of our training programs, we recommend contacting a Career Advisor at one of our locations to schedule a personal interview. During that interview, the student and representative will discuss which career options are best, take a tour of the school and meet the faculty and staff. Your Career Advisor can then recommend a seat in one of our scheduled class starts. Our Campuses do not look at SAT scores; however, a high school diploma or GED is required, and all students must pass an entrance exam.
When does school start?
Unlike a 4-year college with only 2 starts per year, all of our programs start on an on-going basis throughout the year. An interested student should contact one of our Career Advisors for exact class start dates for the program he or she is interested in.
