Train to become a skilled Electrician
Enjoy the challenge and responsibility that come with a career that can connect you with exciting opportunities. Electricity is essential to everyday life and qualified electricians are needed for residential, commercial and industrial work, as well as the quickly emerging energy technologies such as wind turbines.
Electricians work both indoors and out, at constructions sites, businesses, and factories. You have the opportunity to work for small or large companies or even own your own business. If you enjoy working with your hands and are fascinated by electricity, then this is a great career for you.
There are currently four Lincoln campuses that offer training programs in this field:
GRAND PRAIRIE, TX CAMPUS
In Lincoln’s Electrical Technology new training labs, you will get real-world hands-on training. Your career-focused courses will include learning to wire residential, commercial, and industrial structures. You will learn how switches, panels, relays, and transformers are used to distribute and control electricity to various circuits as part of an electrical service system. The Motors and Maintenance course will teach the principles and maintenance of single phase and three phase motors. You also learn to analyze the level of electrical service and over-current protection required for various types of structures or applications. You will also learn the correct methods for splicing or terminating medium voltage cables as well as other special electrical applications. Upon completion of classroom and practical training, graduates from this program will possess the skills and knowledge that can be applied to continuing State mandated on-the-job training and ultimately qualify for the Journeyman’s Electrician’s license exam and to qualify for career placement assistance.
