This program is designed to provide students with skills that can be used throughout the health care industry. It stresses understanding of and demonstration of planning, management, technical skills, and principles of technology and labor, as well as community health, safety, and environmental issues. The Patient Care Technician program is taught utilizing textbooks, lecture sessions, videos, lab practice and practical experience in acute care and long term care facilities to ensure successful, comprehensive training. Each sequence of instruction coincides with clinical experience in an area facility under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
Upon successful completion of Lincoln's Patient Care Technician program at our Fern Park (Orlando) or St. Petersburg campus, graduates are eligible to take the Florida State Nursing Assistant certification examination, which is the required certification for Patient Care Technicians.
