Paralegal Training

To become a paralegal is to join a career field that is currently projected to grow faster than the average for all occupations. In our complex and rapidly changing world, lawyers have come to depend on educated paralegals to perform vital job functions such as case research, document preparation, investigative work and office management. Paralegals provide critical and integral support to lawyers, corporations, public institutions and other employers, and they have established themselves to be a crucial part of the legal system.

The goal of the Paralegal Studies program is to enable students, through theoretical and practical legal education, to understand the legal system and gain knowledge of the basic areas of law as well as legal research and writing and legal reasoning thereby contributing to the legal profession. This program is designed to equip students with the skills necessary to analyze legal issues and perform a variety of activities including drafting legal documents, conducting legal research, and helping lawyers prepare cases for trial.

Graduates of Lincoln College of Technology’s Paralegal Studies program are prepared to assist lawyers in the effective delivery of legal services to both the public and private sector. Graduates are prepared to work in law firms, banks, corporations and government agencies.
